WHAT IS THE VIRTUAL GALLERY?
If you're a fan of the Classic Marvel Figurine Collection,
you've come to the right place. Welcome.
This is an imaginary gallery, much in the Marvel What If tradition:
'What if the CMFC included the characters I always wanted?'
Now the gallery makes it possible for all CMFC collectors and fans out there. It's a fun fantasy space where you can view realistic simulations of CMFC figurines, produced by me via creative photoshop techniques.
The gallery is the perfect research centre, the place where your favorite
Marvel characters are showcased in a 'virtual' CMFC format, providing
inspiration... and a visually convincing argument for their inclusion
in the real collection.
Our mission is to create the ultimate, most complete
visual archive of Marvel characters in CMFC format.

WHAT IS A 'VIRTUAL' FIGURINE?
The virtual figurines are digital compositions produced by me
using photoshop montage techniques. Each character is created
by combining carefully selected parts of sculpts, busts,
action figures and custom figures whose images are in
the public online domain.
These elements are digitally manipulated, reshaped, recoloured
and recombined in numerous ways, resulting in a unique creation -
a custom figure that is 100% digital and
does not exist as a real physical object.
In some cases, the digital customization is so advanced
that it is no longer possible to recognize the original source
material - the final figure is an original in its own right.
Many of these virtual figurines are the best, and often the only,
existing figurines of the characters.
In some other cases, the original components remain
vastly visible
and I do not take credit for the beauty of the parts -
they are the work of talented artists.
My skill is all in the creative assemblage.

WHY THE VIRTUAL GALLERY
The Virtual Superhero Figurine Gallery is a fan site, a tribute to
the beauty of Marvel character design and a celebration of the
Classic Marvel Figurine Collection published by Eaglemoss.
It is a research project, as well as a fantasy, dedicated to Marvel and CMFC
fans wishing to campaign for the inclusion of their favorite characters
in the real collection. It is 100% non-profit.
These realistic mock-ups are used to demonstrate how certain
Marvel characters have the potential to become awesome CMFC figurines. Here's hope that this imaginary collection will inspire and persuade CMFC artists, editors and business decision-makers alike that these characters deserve to be included in the real collection.
